Communities

Together, Coca-Cola Enterprises and Coca-Cola Great Britain make a big contribution to the British economy.

We employ more than 4,500 people across England, Scotland and Wales and we've developed strong relationships with the local communities in which we work. We also play an important role in supporting some of the country's most prominent sporting activities, including the Football League and the Welsh and English Rugby Football Unions.

We have a responsibility to our local communities and we aim to make a positive difference to them. We do this in two ways:

  • Through the economic benefit that our business activities bring
  • Through our many community and charitable programmes and initiatives

How we manage our impact

The Coca-Cola Enterprises' Executive Team and Coca-Cola Great Britain's Leadership Team have overall responsibility for managing our social and economic impacts.

  • At national level, the Public Affairs and Communications Teams manage our local community investment. Both teams get input from the Corporate Responsibility Steering Committee about key issues and programmes.
  • At a local level, community investment is looked after by Coca-Cola Enterprises' Regional teams and by the management teams at each of our six manufacturing sites in Great Britain.

Working with government

The Public Affairs and Communications teams at Coca-Cola Great Britain and Coca-Cola Enterprises regularly engage with government departments and regulators in England, Scotland and Wales. They tackle a wide variety of public policy issues related to our business.

During 2010 we responded to Government consultations on a variety of topics including Waste, Landfill and Packaging:

We do not make any financial or in-kind contributions to political parties, politicians or related institutions in Great Britain.
