Our success depends on motivated and committed employees. We need them to feel that they play a real part in helping our business meet its goals and have an understanding of what they are. We have several different ways of measuring our employees' level of engagement with the business and satisfaction with their working lives.
At Coca-Cola Enterprises we believe in meaningful and constructive dialogue and have established employee representative groups in our national and local Business Connection groups, these groups cover all our employees. We also have site joint consultation forums with our recognised trade unions. We work collaboratively with all our representative bodies and are committed to listening to our employees.
Our employee engagement surveys and representative groups help us to gather information across the company and to work with our people to continue our journey to becoming the best beverage sales and customer services company and developing a winning and inclusive culture.
At Coca-Cola Enterprises we have piloted listening groups to give support and advice to female employees on achieving a balance between motherhood and the workplace. Our efforts are showing results and, in 2010, approximately 43% of our newly hired or promoted employees in Great Britain were women.
Coca-Cola Great Britain runs a survey every two years as part of a bigger global survey. In both cases, the results are benchmarked against those of similar businesses.
There is a European Coca-Cola Communications Forum that meets with members of the European Leadership team. Coca-Cola Great Britain has a representative that sits on this forum.
