RMHC - Ronald McDonald House Charities

Coca-Cola Great Britain is proud to support families with children in hospital through its relationship with RMHC - Ronald McDonald House Charities. RMHC is an international charity in 50 countries around the world helping families in their time of need.

Formerly known in the UK as Ronald McDonald Children's Charities (RMCC), RMHC is an independent registered charity and the leading charity provider of accommodation for families with children in hospital or hospices across the UK.

When a child is admitted to hospital families can find time pressures and the cost of travelling to and from the hospital very stressful. Ronald McDonald Houses and Ronald McDonald Family Rooms are located near to the hospital or adjacent to the ward and provide families with a place to get some crucial rest, gain some sense of normality and support from other families in similar situations. Where possible every bedroom has a telephone directly linked to the hospital ward. This means families can be in direct contact with the ward should an emergency arise any time of day or night.

There are currently 12 Ronald McDonald Houses and 29 sets of Ronald McDonald Family Rooms in nearly 40 hospitals across the UK providing over 300 bedrooms a night for families to stay in. Ronald McDonald Houses and Ronald McDonald Family Rooms are not just about bricks and mortar, but about supporting families at their greatest time of need. The need for the service RMHC provides continues to grow and the Charity has committed to support and open further accommodation facilities across the UK at a combined cost of over £33 million in the next five years.
