Energy Use
During 2007 and 2008, we’ll be taking the following steps to ensure we continue to understand and reduce our energy use and carbon footprint:
- Implement energy saving strategies in order to reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions from our manufacturing sites in Great Britain.
- Work in partnership with the Carbon Trust to measure and verify the carbon footprint of individual products from our portfolio in Great Britain.
- Assess the feasibility of installing at least one large-scale wind turbine at one of our manufacturing sites in Great Britain (subject to local planning consent).
- Develop a plan to fit energy saving devices and low-energy LED lighting on all new and refurbished cold drinks equipment.
- Undertake a pilot of HFC-free refrigeration equipment with selected key customers in Great Britain.
