Next Steps

During 2007 and 2008, we’ll be taking the following steps to ensure we continue to minimise the environmental impact of our packaging:

  • Continue to increase the amount of waste we recycle from our manufacturing sites in Great Britain – aiming to send zero waste to landfill.
  • Work with WRAP towards achieving the aims of The Courtauld Commitment on packaging reduction.
  • Introduce lightweight 330ml glass bottles from September 2007 – saving 700 tonnes of glass per year.
  • Work with WRAP and our can suppliers to further reduce the weight of our aluminium cans.
  • Encourage our consumers to recycle more by including the Recycle Now logo on all of our cans and bottles from January 2008.
  • Work with our PET suppliers to increase our use of recycled PET during 2008.
  • Lead the soft drinks industry to create a standard for the recyclability of plastic bottles in Great Britain.
