Recycling
So the drink's finished. All that's left is the empty can or bottle. Chuck it or recycle it? If there's one thing you can do that will make the biggest difference to the environment it's to recycle your pack!
- We've calculated the carbon footprint of some of our best loved products and 30-70% of their CO2 emissions come from the packaging - recycling reduces this impact massively
- Recycling an aluminium can uses only 5% of the energy and releases only 5% of the CO2 emissions compared to making new cans
- To help people recycle when they are out and about we have established 130 static or event-based Recycle Zones around Great Britain
- The more consumers recycle the more recycled materials there are for us to use in our packaging
- Currently our cans are made from around 50% recycled aluminium and our glass bottles from around 40% recycled glass and in 2011 we had around 22% recycled plastic in our plastic bottles
- 99.9% of waste at our manufacturing sites is now recycled or recovered, so only 0.1% goes to landfill
