Managing our Responsibilities

CEO Statement

Welcome to the 2006/07 Corporate Responsibility Report for the Coca-Cola System in Great Britain.

Corporate responsibility is critical to the future success and sustainability of our businesses. That's why we've incorporated corporate responsibility measures into our business objectives, taken steps to further incorporate social and environmental thinking into our decision-making processes and restructured the way we manage our corporate responsibilities to ensure they get the prominence they deserve.

We also need to ensure that we are focusing our attention on the issues and areas that are most material to us, and that are most important to the people who matter to our business.

Earlier this year we conducted a specific piece of stakeholder research to explore this. We spoke to a wide range of people, including consumers, customers and employees and were able to build a clear picture of the most important areas of responsibility for the Coca-Cola system in Great Britain notably how we market our products; how we use natural resources such as energy, water and packaging materials; and the impact we have on communities, both local and global.

Whilst these results complemented our internal thinking they also enabled us to be even more focused on making a difference to the issues that matter most. We have therefore focused our future plans on these key areas of responsibility.

We hope you find reading about our commitments to corporate responsibility, our recent activity and our future plans interesting. We'd be keen to hear your feedback and thoughts. You can contact us at corporateresponsibility@eur.ko.com
