Training & Development

Training & Development at Coca-Cola Great Britain

At CCGB we run a range of training and development programmes. We provide leadership training for managers at all levels in the organisation, functional skill building courses and behavioural training programmes. In addition, many of our training programmes are pan-European. This gives people the added opportunity to network and learn from colleagues in other countries. In 2006, the average training spend per head at CCGB in 2006 was £2315

Some of the major training programmes that we run include a focus on:

  • Situation leadership
  • Negotiation
  • Influencing
  • Personal effectiveness
  • Finance for non-finance managers
  • Coaching and feedback
  • Project management

We also run a comprehensive 90 day induction programme for all new employees.

Employee Development

Every employee at CCGB has a development plan which they review twice a year with their manager. This plan helps us ensure that we match individual skill development with available roles and project opportunities.

Supporting Learning

At CCGB, we have an online performance management and development tool which helps employees assess their skills and direct their own career planning – Learning Solutions online. This system helps people log and track objectives. 100% of our employees have access to this system.

To help employees practice their learning skills we also offer an annual ‘Learning Allowance’ which employees can use on their choice of learning activity outside of work – from sailing to wine tasting.

Training for Our Managers

We believe that learning is an individual responsibility and a skill in its own right. For example, we believe that a line manager's ability to offer coaching is very important in developing people. As a result we run regular programmes for managers on coaching and feedback skills, and there are specific leadership training programmes for managers at all levels in the organisation.
