Our People

A Safe & Healthy Workplace

We take the health and safety of our employees extremely seriously. We are very proud of our health and safety record and of the numerous awards we have received. Most of our collective bargaining agreements recognise a joint commitment to safety by the company and employee groups.

Health and Safety is of particular importance at Coca-Cola Enterprises, where many of our employees work in manufacturing sites and distribution depots and use machinery, equipment and vehicles which carry considerable inherent risk.

At Coca-Cola Enterprises we believe that accidents are usually preventable, so we are committed to promoting and rewarding safe behaviour and educating all of our employees about our safety procedures. We work hard to continually improve our performance on safety by:

  • Promoting an environment in which doing things safely is our priority;
  • Constantly monitoring our health and safety performance to ensure continuous improvement;
  • Working to continually identify hazards and risks in the workplace – allowing us to eliminate or reduce them as far as possible.
Managing Health and Safety issues

All of CCE’s manufacturing and distribution sites in Great Britain have site specific employee health & safety representatives, who are responsible for representing the local workforce.

Each site also has a Health & Safety Committee, which is attended by both management and employee representatives. Our Health & Safety committees help us to monitor and advise on occupational health and safety programmes. CCE’s employee safety representatives receive formal safety training so that they can carry out their duties at all of our sites.

100% of employees within CCE’s manufacturing and distribution operations are represented in this way – this accounts for more than 50% of CCE’s total workforce.
